Find the right people.
ACT OUT sources, auditions, and recommends talent for your approval. Booking, contracts, and performer communication are handled by your production team.
Working With ACT OUT
Every production operates differently. ACT OUT establishes roles and responsibilities at the start of each project so casting stays organized, performers receive accurate information, and production keeps moving.
Our Role Depends on the Scope
ACT OUT offers three service levels. The scope we agree on determines what we manage, what we communicate, and what stays with your team.
Find the right people.
ACT OUT sources, auditions, and recommends talent for your approval. Booking, contracts, and performer communication are handled by your production team.
Find them. Book them. Get them production-ready.
ACT OUT manages casting and takes on performer communication through booking — confirmations, deal memos, and pre-production logistics.
Cast-to-wrap support.
ACT OUT handles the full performer-facing workflow from breakdown through production wrap — including onboarding, scheduling, fittings, travel, and daily set communication.

ACT OUT confirms bookings based on information provided by production. When schedules, locations, rates, or call times change, production notifies ACT OUT promptly so performers receive accurate updates. Last-minute changes communicated directly to performers without ACT OUT's knowledge can create confusion — early communication keeps everyone aligned.
When ACT OUT is engaged to support an existing casting department, we work within that department's established systems. Our role, communication channels, and reporting structure are confirmed with the lead casting director before work begins.
When travel or accommodation is part of a performer's deal, ACT OUT coordinates logistics based on details provided and approved by production. Arrangements are confirmed with performers once production has approved them. Changes to travel plans are communicated as soon as they are known.
ACT OUT works with both union and non-union productions. On union productions, deal terms, rates, and working conditions follow the applicable collective agreement. ACT OUT communicates terms accurately and flags any questions to production before confirming with performers.
If a booking is cancelled or materially changed after confirmation, ACT OUT notifies the performer promptly. Production is responsible for any applicable fees or obligations under the performer's agreement. ACT OUT documents cancellations and changes as part of the project record.
Shared Accountability
Document what happened. Correct the issue. Treat people fairly. Learn from it. Improve the process. Move forward.
When something goes wrong on a production, ACT OUT's approach is straightforward: understand what happened, fix it, and make sure it doesn't happen again. We're not interested in assigning blame — we're interested in solving problems and protecting the people involved. That's the standard we hold ourselves to, and the standard we work best with.
Questions Before We Start?
ACT OUT is happy to walk through roles, responsibilities, and communication expectations before a project gets underway. A short conversation at the start saves a lot of confusion later.
